Update from Wessex Internet

Dear Sirs,

I do hope you are well. I am touching base on the back of your contact with our customer care team, enquiring about timeframes of when we will be able to connect Collingbourne Ducis.

The short answer is approximately, the Winter of 26/27. You are part of a five-year, government funded program called Project Gigabit South Wiltshire which Wessex Internet are responsible for rolling out across South Wiltshire. This sees us extend our existing network, the heart of which is in Blandford Forum, Dorset, as far North at Marlborough. We have to, unfortunately for you, build and extend on our existing network for it to all link up and we are currently only in the Wylye Valley which is why we can not get to you sooner in the contract.

I can confirm that the entire village is included in the contract, and it will bring FTTP (Fibre To The Property) internet to every property within Collingbourne Ducis. No home or business owner will need to take up a connection if they do not so wish, but the ability to do so will be there if they do choose to do so in the future.

One thing that you could do in the meantime, is ask those that may be interested in a connection to go onto our website and register their interest. It enables us to keep those people in the loop via email and upcoming community engagement events.

My colleague, Paul Clearly (CC'd) will be in contact with you closer to the time to explain things in more detail.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Ed
